Who we are

Industry Grease is an education & community-based resource established to bring all sides of the cycling industry together to better the cycling industry, its culture, and most importantly, the very community we depend on. Our customers. Together we will nurture solutions through discussion-based, educational content covering a wide range of industry, consumer, and marketplace-specific subject matter. We all have something we can learn from each other as well as from resources we have yet to tap into.

Comments

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Comments are treated as shared information and visible to all current & future members of Industry Grease. While comments are viewable only to members of Industry Grease, we are not able to guarantee other members won’t share your comments or information you willingly provide including in comments or personal information listed on your profile.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

All content on Industry Grease is owned by Industry Grease Inc. or used with permission and can not be borrowed, shared, or used by anyone without permission written in my blood… or an email from me.

If you upload images to the website, make sure they are yours to share and not taken from another resource without permission. You should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included if that is something you’re concerned about. While content is protected from being viewed or copied by non-members, we can not guarantee that members to the website won’t download and extract any location data, personal information, or other information from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Who we share your data with

Outside of internal uses, general things like spam filters, and other things websites use to keep everyone’s information safe from things like scammers, marketers, and the overreaching government, we do not share any of the data we gather with anyone outside of Industry Grease or its friends. We may discuss an accumulation of information gathered from members (like regional shifts, or supply chain fluctuations) to create content internally as well as with some of our partnerships. INDUSTRY GREASE INC. WILL NEVER SELL ANY INDIVIDUAL’S INFORMATION.

How long we retain your data

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username which is the legal or personal name they commonly go by). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you though this may require we delete your account without any refund. This does not include any content you provide or data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service but that’s pretty much it. Outside of that, Industry Grease is not here to profit off of selling your personal data to suppliers or others looking to leverage your information. Industry Grease may use information gained through members’ locations, categorical information, comments, surveys, and other collections of data to gather & share valuable information on Industry Grease-owned platforms and occasionally through industry partnerships that contribute to our cause.
