I’ve also had a fair number of roles on the supply side of the industry when everyone was beginning to come up with new ways to serve a new & unpredictable online marketplace. The one thing that hasn’t changed? The consumer is still our number one priority and nothing has come closer to supporting our consumers than the customer-facing members of our retail channel… you.
Industry Grease is a collaborative platform designed to bring you closer to both suppliers & other retailers across the US. One of our goals is to generate some of the key conversations the Bicycle Industry needs to have so more of us can make better & more manageable decisions… for all. While we try to stir things up through our comment-riddled articles and the Industry Grease Podcast, the really good dirt can be found in the community & private forums and our sultry anonymous advice column, Dear Bicycle Industry. We even have Private Messaging for those who want to keep things off-grid or exchange dirty pics of your bicycles.
Who Should Join?
So who at your shop should join? Some manager-level people could join and share the information found here with their team, but things would be far more successful if those others were already familiar with & perhaps prepared for the discussion ahead of time. Giving employees an opportunity to learn not only increases their engagement & chance to give feedback… it assures them that they are valued, and in turn, will show they value you. The resources & information found here will never expire and is designed with everyone in mind… besides, we would charge a lot more if we just wanted a few decision-makers to join.
